Its after Easter and we are booking our spring programs and also our virtual field trips to the farm. Farmer Lloyd will visit with school children from Saginaw County and beyond. We recently booked a visit with a rural school in south Texas. We bring the animal room into the classroom via video conferencing. We have our animal room filled mostly with sheep. Our three ewes that were bred last fall all had multiple births. Jenny and Lucy had tripplets and Annie had a set of twins. I have a short movie clip you may be able to view. Click here to see our lambs playing. We have our permanent residents, our cats, Sparky and Dinah, a rabbits Patches, and a pen full of chickens. Patches is new to our farm and is a mini-lop we got him last fall. The white chickens are Leghorns and the red ones are Rhode Island Reds. Maybe you can help us gather eggs when you come for a visit. Last fall we put up a new pasture for our sheep. We have three Hampshire ewes and now all the little lambs. Here is a picture of Lucy and her tripplets. We will be getting baby pigs and a baby calf and a pigmy goat in the next two weeks.
Cody the wonder dog often visits the farm and performs in a dog show. Questions about our farm program and scheduling a farm visit can be accomplished by contacting: The Hartley Center at 989-865-6295 or:
