We were thrilled to welcome the 3rd graders from Kolb Elementary to Hartley OEC for an enriching Place-Based/Project-Based learning experience! During their visit, students learned about the world of Michigan lumberjacks and trees. They honed their logging skills and even crafted their very own log end mark! Naturalist Paul Roose caught and banded a wild Grey Slate Junco as part of a program for the Peace students. After they got a chance to pet it, one lucky student got to release it off the balcony. #HartleyOEC #SISD
