Saginaw ISD's Instructional Services Department and Hartley staff are waiting for students to arrive for a day of hands-on education with nature games, scavenger hunts, and reading! #SaginawISD #Hartley #OurStory

It's a great start to the week at Hartley Outdoor Education Center, and it's time to learn about the Schroeder House and early life in Michigan! Book your classroom trip for next year now: https://www.hartley.sisd.cc/

We are incredibly grateful to our Sherwood Elementary friends for their generous Scholastic Big Books donation! The Hartley OEC staff is thrilled to use these wonderful resources to develop and expand our day trip programs for K-3 students. #HartleyOEC #OurStory

Students from Chesaning Middle School dissected owl pellets as part of a special program. They used a bone chart to ID what they found, most of which were from mice. #HartleyOEC

Hartley staff spotted baby #2 this week! Fawns will spend most of their time bedded down, making it harder for predators to find them. Mothers will leave the fawns for many hours as their scent glands develop but are often no further than 100 yards away. #HartleyOEC

It's baby season at Hartley! These Canadian goslings will leave the nest 24 hours after hatching, following their parents. They can swim right away and will get their flying feathers in less than two months. #HartleyOEC

This group of students from Owosso made a fantastic shelter as part of their survival class. #HartleyOEC #SISD

We LOVE it when our friends share their artwork with us! Especially when they have a wonderful message like this one, “Hartley taught me things school couldn’t.” That’s the Hartley experience!#OurStory #HartleyOEC

March is National Reading Month, and we can’t get enough of it at Hartley! We’re all about celebrating the love of books, and one of our absolute favorites is “Alfie” by Thyra Heder. Plus, we’ve got a special treat: our very own turtle, Bonnie, joining in on the fun, making reading even more interactive and exciting! #HartleyOEC

Big thanks to Tony, Glenn, and Darrel from our facilities team for working on replacing the rope swing at Hartley! We appreciate everything you all do to keep us safe and operational! #SaginawISD

With fresh snow, we get to spot some incredible tracks. These bird tracks were spotted on the back balcony. #Hartley #SISD
